He was a member of Valhalla and his greatest joy was playing golf. He graduated from Bloomfield High School in 1938, Union College in 1942, and Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1946. He was the former partner with his brother in Brill's Pharmacy on Bardstown Road for 40 years. She is survived by her beloved daughters: Susan Goodman and Robin Goodman (Lydia Pritchard); sisters: Sonia Davidson and Florence Weinstein of Connecticut; and brothers: Leo (Shirley), Alvin (Linda) and Herschel Borowick.

She was one of three children born to the late Milton and Minnie Palestrant and was the beloved wife of Robert Gould for over 50 years. Richard Gould, and will forever be remembered by her devoted daughters, Carol Small and Barbara De Vuono; loving sons-in-law, Hal Klein and Rick De Vuono; treasured grandchildren: Lindsey (Michael) Delrahim, Ryan Small of Chicago, IL, Paul (Eleyah) Frields, Kevin Frields, and Erin (James) Ralph of Virginia; many precious great-grandchildren, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know her.

Shirley loved traveling, going to movies, reading, being with her family and having fun with friends.
